Oud, the resin of the agarwood tree, is a highly sought-after ingredient in perfumes. This used to be known and appreciated only in the Middle East, but now it is known everywhere and is used in many perfumes. Oud can have different characteristics, from deep woody and dark to strong animalic notes. For me, Oud is like a spice that needs to be used in doses. Too much is unpleasant and too little doesn't help.

My inspiration for this fragrance is the combination of two not-so-common elements. On the one hand the oud in question, on the other hand a floral fruity component made of plum and iris.
There are a variety of rose/oud combinations, but there is hardly one with iris. My preference for irises is widely known. Plus the plum as a darker, fruitier component.

The scent is intended to convey a silky feeling. That's why the name Silk like silk but with an exclamation mark, because the oud plays a part.

Liquid Inspiration:

The Thai natural oud is best suited to represent this characteristic. It is softer than Laos or Cambodia Oud and also with a faint animalic quality. Plus, as I said, the Florentine iris which adds a powdery and dry floral note. And the plum in question with its dark fruitiness. That's why a few fresh notes were added to start with in the form of orange and lemon and underlined piquantly with pink pepper.

Finest Liquid:

At the start you get to smell a large dose of iris, which is accompanied by fresh notes of orange and lemon. After a short while the oud builds up in the background. The plum note is garnished a little delayed. Rather cautiously fruity, as plums are, darker not exotic. The Oud gains more space and shines with its aura. Rose and cedar wood, as well as the base notes of musk, sandalwood and benzoin are just accompanying music for the plum/iris/oud concert.

The scent has a great fullness and charisma. But he always remains elegant and has no animalistic traits.

In summary, a silky oriental fragrance wardrobe.
