This coin pays tribute to important figures of ancient Egypt. The 2023 issue honors the creator of a wonder of the world whose impressive work continues to inspire admiration to this day. Cheops, also known by his Greek name Cheops, was the second pharaoh of the 4th dynasty and ruled in the 3rd millennium BC. Almost immediately after taking office, he began monumental work on the Great Pyramid of Giza. Construction is estimated to have taken over 20 years and it remained the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years.
